Dr. Winkler received a B.A. ('73) and a Ph.D. ('79) in Biology from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. He was a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University and a professor at Northwestern University Medical School and the University of Texas Medical School. He was also a Research Advisor of Infectious Diseases Research at Eli Lilly & Company. Dr. Winkler joined the IU faculty in May 2003; his research focuses on the human respiratory pathogenic bacterium, Streptococcus

Dr. Magill received a B.S. from Allegheny College and her M.S. ('82) and Ph.D. ('88) in Microbiology from Cornell University. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Magill has taught at a number of colleges and universities. She has also worked at Rhode Island Hospital and at a US EPA – GLP lab. Her research interests have included sporulation of Bacillus sp. and antibiotic resistance. Read more about Dr. Magill.

Dr. Lee received a B.S. ('00) and Ph.D. ('06) in Genetics from Purdue University. While at Purdue he was a National Science Foundation Predoctoral Fellow with the Krannert School of Management in the Innovation Realization Laboratory. He was a Postdoctoral researcher in the Crop Science Department at the University of Illinois. His research interests include the genetics of herbicide resistance in plants and plant developmental biology. Read more about Dr. Lee.
