Pauline Manhes

Hometown: Grenoble, FRANCE
Program at IU: Evolution, Ecology and Behavior (EEB) Graduate Program
Year of birth: 1981
Main interests: I’m interested in bacterial evolution, experimental evolution, cheating and anti-cheating strategies, coevolution and mutualism.
What I’m doing right now: I use experimental evolution in the lab to understand the dynamics of the interaction between cooperators and selfish individuals in bacteria. I wish to appreciate which factors favor cooperative interactions over competitive ones and whether mechanisms that prevent the spread of selfish individuals can evolve in bacteria.
My education information: I did my undergraduate studies in Molecular and Cellular Biology at ENS Lyon. I also have a Master degree in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior at University of Paris 6.
Fellowships and/or awards: Indiana Academy of Science Research Grant.
